“The culture of book fostering” – a presentation held for the senior students of the Duisi village public school, by the Korneli Kekelidze National Center of Manuscripts of Ministry of Education and Science, a school project specially designed for the Pankisi Gorge. The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia – Ms. Tamar Sanikidze and the director of Korneli Kekelidze National Center of Manuscripts – Mr. Zaza Abashidze, spoke about the importance and main objectives of the above-mentioned project.

Within the governments strategic scope, a business meeting was held in Julich Research Center – Federal Republic of Germany, by the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia – Ms. Tamar Sanikidze, Deputy Minister – Mr. George Sharvashidze, and the director of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation – Ms. Marine Chitashvili regarding the prospects of discussing future plans for the Georgian-German scientific bridge, enhancing the current existing cooperation between the two parties, and the support required to promote the return of Georgian scientists back to Georgia.

The private sector supports the new stage of the vocational education reform. Owing to the initiative of the Prime Minister, regarding the implementation of the work-based learning, including the introduction of dual education, caused a great deal of interest from the private sector.

Within the framework of the European Days in Tbilisi, a conference – “Teacher - Guide to Europe" was held at the National Center for Teacher Professional Development, which was organized by the NATO and European Union information centers, in partnership with the National Center for Teacher Professional Development and Friedrich Ebert Foundation.

The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia –Ms. Tamar Sanikidze held a business meeting held in Pankisi Gorge. A meeting with Pankisi region public school principals, teachers and representastives is always exceptional for the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. It needs to be mentioned, that there is a significant relationship towards the teachers and students of this valley.

A mandatory guard service has started functioning at N1 and N2 public schools of Duisi – Kakheti Kakheti, where the number of students exceeds 500.

A meeting was held for the Public Defender s Council of Ethnic Minorities, where the members itself are the representatives of ethnic minorities in Georgia, who have their own views regarding the general education and language issues. The Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia –Ms. Lia Gigauri herself and the Public Defender led the meeting.

The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia signed a memorandum of cooperation with the NGO “Berilus”, which provides the maintenance of collaboration between the Ministry of Education and Science and and “Berilus”, initiated in 2014-2015. The memo aims to encourage young individuals with special educational needs to socialize with their peers and promote their interest towards the education.

A universal registration for the students of 1st grade will for the 2016-2017 academic year, will start on May 4, at 09:00 AM. The registration will be fully executed on the Education Management Information System special website (www.registration.emis.ge) and will end on May 25 – 20:00.
