at strengthening English Language teaching and learning within the secondary schools

The above-mentioned project represents the part of the long-term state strategy focusing on raising the competitiveness of graduates of Georgian schools and their integration within the international market.
Within the framework of the English Language Learning Strengthening Project three different sub-projects are being accomplished:

English-language summer schools in
arranging
three-week English-language summer schools for 8th, 9th,
10th and 11th grade 1200 secondary school students by
May, 2010 (they will be selected on the basis of the results they will get at
different school subject olympiads and various school-related competitions
along with the certain knowledge of the English Language) in Georgia.

In order to strengthen mutual cooperation and understanding between the youth of Georgia and the United States of America and to support mutually beneficial contacts between Georgian and American schools and communities, the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia (MoES) and American Councils for International Education: ACTR/ACCELS (American Councils) have reached the agreement on furthering and continuing the exchange program for 100 high school students from Georgia to live and study in the United States during the course of the 2010-2011 school year. 50 out of them will be financed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, the rest of them - by the US State Department
The selection of those Georgian high-school students who will pursue their studies in the USA in 2010-2011 has already been finished on the basis of the three-stage competition in the way FLEX usually does it.
