For the first time this year, the twelfth graders take exams
in the format of the CAT system with the computers. The exams are held in 8
subjects: Georgian Language and Literature, Foreign Languages (upon choice);
Math, History, Geography, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Batumi Navigation Teaching
University was founded on the basis of Batumi Maritime College in 2007. About

National Center for Teacher
Professional Development carries out pre-certification exams trainings for
teachers of Zemo Nikozi and other villages. The teachers will have the
opportunity to pass 4 day trainings in Professional Skills.

Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Irine Kurdadze and
Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Mr. Ortwin Hennig handed
over German language diplomas to 83 students of PASCH schools in
Georgia. The event was organized within the frame of the German Days in
Georgia.
A process of authorization of the private schools begins and the
Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini continues
his visits to the private schools. This time, Minister visited
“European School” and personally informed the school staff about the
conditions of the authorization.
The President of Georgia Mikheil
Saakashvili opened newly constructed school in the village of Vaziani. The
construction of school was finished in 2011. 171 schoolchildren study and 21
teachers teach at Vaziani Public School.
Deputy Minister of
Education and Science of Georgia Nodar Surguladze awarded the winners of the
contest in Physics. The competition was organized by Tbilisi Public School №63
for the schoolchildren of general educational institutions with the support of
the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.
With the support of British Council the conference “English Language and International
Qualification – the Road to the Future” was held. The conference was aimed to introduce English language and international exams programs of British Council
to the policy makers of education field, English language teachers and service
providers.

Tbilisi Public School № 53 and awarded the winners of the competition
organized by the company “Gogli-Mogli”.
First Deputy Minister of
Education and Science of Georgia Koka Sepherteladze, Pro-Rector of

event opened a “Chaglari” international Olympiad for Young Scientists and

A process of authorization of the

Process of Teacher certification
is underway and is voluntary till 2014. In every July teachers are given
opportunity to take a test in corresponding subject and a test in professional
skills. Teachers, who successfully pass the tests, will get a surplus to the
salary with the amount of 75 GEL.

500 resource officers planted cypress
and cedars in Khudadovi Forest in the scope of the campaign “Plant a Tree, Make

National Curriculum and Assessment Center under the Ministry of

The Minister of Education and
Science of Georgia Dmitri Shashkini and Head of National Examinations Center
Maia Miminoshvili observed the proceeding of joint English language and IT
exam for certified teachers.
In the scope of the campaign “Plant a Tree, Make Tbilisi Green”,
Resource Officers planted trees in 4 Public Schools of Tbilisi together with
the schoolchildren. Cypress and cedars were planted in the public schools №151, №147, №186 and №187. At the same time the schoolchildren and Resources Officers
planted some trees in Kutaisi as well.
Tbilisi City Hall with support of
the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia is implementing the project
“Let’s Read Books”. In the scope of the
project the students of Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Georgian State
University read literature together with schoolchildren of 4th and 5th
grades at public libraries of Tbilisi.
