In regard with the 180th anniversary of a famous Georgian writer, poet, publicist, political and public figure Ilia Chavchavadze Tbilisi classical gymnasium where Ilia used to study, will host significant events till November 20. Within the events on November 7 it was decided to establish a society of gymnasium graduates. These are writers, politicians and successful people who will care for school development and strengthening in future.
The vocational education department of the Ministry of Education and Science organized a meeting of the first deputy minister Ketevan Natrashvili with German partners in dual education direction.
In 2017 Georgian universities participated in several international exhibitions and conferences with project “Study in Georgia.” The project is initiated by the Ministry of Education and Science and aims at popularizing educational hub and attracting foreign students.

The 100th anniversary of I.Javaskhishvili Tbilisi State University is among UNESCO events list. The decision was made at the 39th general conference session in Paris with the support of friend countries. Since 1956 UNESCO is actively participating in celebration of historic data in its member countries that gives special meaning to those events.
In connection to Ilia Chavchavadze 180th anniversary, Tbilisi Classic Gymnasium is planning to organize an anniversary week.
The celebratory week will be opened with exhibition “The history connects us with Ilia”, which is related to the two-century of Tbilisi Classic Gymnasium, and exhibits, unique manuscripts and personal belongings of Ilia Chavchavadze (desk, chair) preserved in the school museum will presented.
Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Tamaz Marsagishvili together with the President of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid and representatives of the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons visited Tserovani IDP settlement. Kersti Kalyulaid viewed the classrooms equipped with modern technologies at Tserovani Public School, met with pupils and handed the books Estonian fairy tales to pupils of first grade.
Within the framework of visit to Georgia, President of the Republic of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid visited # 150 Tbilisi Public School, where she personally got acquainted with the course and results of educational program that are implemented on the basis of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed between the Government of Georgia and the Government of Estonia. The goal of cooperation is to share experience and practice in the field of general education, introduce the innovations and challenges that take place in the sphere of education.
Within second annual International Conference of vocational education “Professions for Future” public exhibition of 45 new vocational education programs was held, where ten vocational institutions introduced to the visitors all the necessary information, which was created within $ 12 million budget project “Vocational education for development of economics” of second MCC compact.
The second annual International Conference on Vocational Education- “Professions for the Future”, within the project of Millennium Challenge Account “Vocational Education for Economic Development” was opened. The main speaker at the International Conference, Jason Gregor, the director of Pearson International Education Company of Business and Development, presented the results of the international research which outlines the required professions and skills of future by 2030. The research was conducted with the Global Fund of Innovation NESTA and Oxford Martini School.
