The San Diego State University celebrated the beginning of a new academic year. The event was attended by the Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Education and Science Aleksandre Jejelava, US Ambassador to Georgia Ian Kelly, Regional Vice President of Millennium Challenge Corporation Fatima Sumar and Magda Magradze, CEO of Millennium Challenge Account. Rector of San Diego State University, Dr. Chukuka Enwemeka and delegation of Professors visited this event specially for this ceremony.

On September 9-10, in the third pavilion of the Exhibition Center Expo Georgia, the 8th Forum of Georgian Youth Organizations is being held. About 200 youth organizations take part in the forum this year and its main goal is to develop relations between youth NGOs and ensure participation of NGO sector in decision-making process. The event of Forum opening was attended by the Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Aleksandre Jejelava, who addressed the participants with a word.

Within the framework of professional development project of teachers and directors of "Millennium Challenge Account-Georgia", School Management and Leadership Conference was held for directors of public schools. The goal of the conference was to share the best practice in direction of school management and professional development.

Another organization - Partnership for Human Rights - will be involved in the process of development of National Curriculum of VII, VIII, IX grades, which will work in the direction of protection of rights of children on Civic Education standard together with experts of the department of National Curriculum.

In connection with the beginning of the new academic year, the Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Education and Science, Aleksandre Jejelava, together with the Ambassador of France to Georgia Pascal Menie, visited the French School of Caucasus. The Minister, congratulated the renewal of study process to leadership, teachers and pupils of the school and then got acquainted with the learning environment.

Within the frameworks of the Georgian-Estonian project, the trainings were held for facilitation of introduction of a new National Curriculum for the staff of 15 pilot schools by the subject experts of the National Curriculum Plans Department and the Estonian experts.

Today a new building of German International School Tbilisi and Kindergarten was opened. The school campus offers the place for 116 pupils of school and 60 children of kindergarten in 2017-2018 academic years.

The working group discussed monitoring evaluation instrument of the program “Second Chance for Education”. International and non-governmental organizations, the representatives of Persons with Disabilities and Child Rights Protection of Public Defender participated in the discussion. The comments and recommendations submitted by the stakeholders in the discussion process will be considered in the final version of the questionnaire.
