August 12 marks World Youth Day. On this day, the UN Assembly adopted a resolution of 17 December 1999, and on 12 August 2000 the civilized world marked the first International Youth Day. In doing so, the UN has called on the international community to recognize the interconnectedness of generations and to jointly solve the problems of peoples of different ages, to raise the awareness of young people about the problems, and etc.

A team of four students from Komarov's Physics and Mathematics Public School # 199 in Tbilisi won three medals at the 31st International Informatics Olympiad: Nikoloz Birkadze - gold, and Teimuraz Toloraia and Bakar Gamesardashvili won bronze medals. Fourth member of the team Davit Khvedelidze missed the chance to acquire a medal this time.

The School located in Partskhanakanevi, was named after Mamia Pantsulaia, who died in the August 2008 war.

Mamia Pantsulaia was an outstanding student of the public school N2 in the village of Partskhanakanevi. After graduating from high school, he served in the Georgian Armed Forces. He was also on a peacekeeping mission in Iraq. And in August 2008 Mamia Pantsulaia participated in the Georgia-Russia war, where he died heroically.

Within the framework of the complex education reform, in 2020, the entrants will pass the Unified National Exams with a brand new model. The new model implies, on the one hand, reducing the number of exams from 4 compulsory exams to 3 exams, and on the other hand, better assessing students' readiness for a particular program. The subject exam will test not only the knowledge of the actual material, but also important skills such as critical thinking, information processing, assessment, logical and argumentative reasoning.
