Nunu Mitskevichi, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia held a meeting with representatives of the Georgian Technical University and Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, where the guests held presentations on the ongoing projects and activities at their respective institution.
The meeting was attended by: Assoc. Prof. Boris Gitolendia, Project Manager and Professor of International Relations and Standards Service, Tamar Lominadze, Gaioz Partskhaladze from the Faculty of Informatics and Management Systems, Gaioz Partskhaladze, Dean of the Faculty of Technology from Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, and Gocha Chavleshvili, Head of the Quality Assurance Service of the Faculty of Technology of the same university.
During the meeting, the parties summed up the results of the student competition for entrepreneurial / innovative projects held at their universities. Innovative centers have been set up at these universities as part of the Erasmus + project "Enhancing Innovative Competencies and Entrepreneurial Skills in Engineering Education (INNOCENS)", which aims to develop innovative and entrepreneurial skills among engineering students in order to create new startups and jobs on the labor market. Under the project, innovation and entrepreneurship courses were developed for engineering students at participating universities, innovative pedagogical methods were introduced, and innovative centers were opened to facilitate the commercialization of innovative ideas for students and faculty members.
The parties also discussed the development of applied science in Georgia, the steps to be taken to bring business and science closer, the possibilities of technological transfer and the improvement of science management.
