By the decision of the Minister of Education and Science, Dimitri Shashkini, dormitory of Kachreti Vocational Education and Training Center will be fully rehabilitated by the next academic year. Around 300 students will have opportunity to live in the environment that will be in compliance with international standards. Currently, Education and Science Infrastructure Development Agency implements construction workings worth of 450,000 GEL.

Hotel with 100 places will be refurbished in five storeyed building as well. Prices will be available and the hotel will serve the whole region. Received amount of money will be spent for the professional education center.

25 students of the center are employed at current rehabilitative workings. Future electricians, builders and carpenters are passing high salary practice.

Students of the specialty of tourism of the center – future hotel managers, administrators, barmen and cooks will pass practice in the hotel from September.

Kachreti Vocational Education and Training Center was established in 2007. It is the only rehabilitated and equipped education center in the region. Grown-up’s retraining program, financed by UNDP and informational-consulting activities of the farmers of five regions of Kakheti as well as vocational education programs are being held at the center.

Following programs are carried out at Kachreti professional education and training centre: Master of agro-tourism, winemaker–winegrower, multi profile construction worker, carpenter-furniture maker, user and operator of the personal computer, technician-operator of informational technologies, metal craftsman of auto cars, vet, stylist, baby sitter, master of the healing flora cultivation, electrician, driver, farmer, handyman .

Around 700 students passed training courses in 2010. 80% of them have been employed.
