A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia and the International Particle Physics Information Group (IPPOG). The document was signed by Minister Mikheil Chkhenkeli and IPPOG Chairmen, Dr. Stephen Goldfarb and Prof. Pedro Abreu.
The International Particle Physics Information Group (IPPOG) is CERN's educational collaboration aimed at promoting scientific life and bringing scientific discoveries and technological innovations to the general public. The IPPOG network comprises of scientists, professors and communication specialists working around the world on non-formal science teaching and particle physics.
Based on the memorandum signed with IPPOG (International Particle Physics Outreach Group), all higher education institutions of Georgia will be given the opportunity to get involved in various collaboration activities.
IPPOG operates in CERN - as an international laboratory, currently collaborating with 26 countries and working on six experimental projects.
