The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, of Georgia Mikheil Chkhenkeli together with the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Maia Tskitishvili inspected the building of the newly renovated Archaeological Museum of Vani and the exhibition hall located on the museum premises.
It is noteworthy that the renovated Vani Museum will host visitors for free for the duration of two months.
The museum building, renovated and refurbished in accordance with international standards, has a permanent exhibition and a temporary exhibition space. Scientific laboratories, auditoriums, a library, and public spaces were arranged in the museum in compliance with the latest standards as well.
Using modern technologies and installations, the visitor can already savour the samples of Colchian goldsmiths found in the luxurious tombs of Vani. Additionally, for the ver the first time, data visualizing their manufacturing technology will be shown.
The Vani Archaeological Museum was renovated for the first time since 1985. The cost of the project implemented with the financial support of the World Bank amounts to GEL 20 million.
