The personal libraries of scientists, public figures and Georgian emigrants and other memorial items preserved at Korneli Kekelidze Georgian National Centre of Manuscripts were under one roof. In the new exhibition hall, the viewers and attendees will now have the opportunity to witness and get acquainted with the history of Ivane Javakhishvili, Korneli Kekelidze, Elene Metreveli, Niko Berdzenishvili, Shalva Amiranashvili, Isidore Dolidze, Simon Chikovani and other prominent figures of Georgia.

The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli visited the National Centre of Manuscripts and inspected the memorial cabinets presented in a completely new form in the freshly renovated exhibition space.

Mikheil Chkhenkeli: “Today I visited the National Centre of Manuscripts, where the first stage of renovation process was completed. A unique and highly interesting exhibition space has been created here, where the personal belongings of our eminent scientists and personal libraries are gathered. Everyone will have the opportunity to visit this unique space.

The National Centre for Manuscripts will always have the full support of the Ministry, as one of our main treasures - our manuscripts - is kept here."

Renovation works at the Centre were carried out on an area equal to ​​246 square meters, with the support of the Ministry.  Roof wiring was replaced, fire safety and heating systems were installed. The library, reading hall and Ilia Abuladze exhibition space were completely renovated.
