In the village of Ikalto, Kakheti, the opening event for thematic camps was held, with the participation of Giorgi Amilakhvari, the Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia.
Addressing the camp participants, the minister emphasized the significance of implementing thematic camps to enhance civic awareness and foster a sense of civic responsibility among young people.
Also present at the opening ceremony were Nodar Papukashvili, the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, and Vakhtang Baakashvili, the head of the Youth Agency.
Following the event, the minister met with the camp participants to discuss various youth-related issues.
It is noteworthy that these thematic camps, organized by the Youth Agency and initiated by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, are being held for the first time in 2024.
Scheduled to run until the end of June, this year's camps will accommodate 500 students across 8 different streams. Participants will engage in thematic discussions on global and local challenges, alongside a range of educational and recreational activities. Public lectures on various significant topics will also be offered to the students during the camp.
