On July 15, 2024, Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, Giorgi Amilakhvari, accompanied by Deputy Minister Nodar Papukashvili, visited the National Center of Manuscripts, named after Korneli Kekelidze. During the visit, they explored the center's unique manuscripts, its infrastructure, and the ongoing scientific research efforts.
The Minister toured various areas, including the Ilia Abuladze Exhibition Hall, the Memorial Museum-Cabinet Exhibition Space, the Ekvtime Takaishvili section featuring Georgian manuscripts, and historical documents and foreign manuscripts, all significant components of Georgia's intellectual and cultural heritage.
Notably, the collections at the Korneli Kekelidze National Center for Manuscripts house unique manuscripts of both ecclesiastical and secular content. Founded on June 30, 1958, by Professor Ilia Abuladze, the National Center is the most important repository of ancient manuscript books and historical documents in Georgia.
