The President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili opened new public school in the village of Dighomi. The school is in compliance with modern standards. The President congratulated the school children and teachers on the beginning of the new academic year. Mikheil Saakashvili presented 81 first graders with netbooks in the scope of the pilot program.

Appropriate condition is created in the public school of the village of Dighomi in order to advance the quality of education. Mikheil Saakashvili visited the refurbished class rooms, gym, modern canteen that was refurbished by the company “Gogli-Mogli”. School children will be able to buy food with the credit cards provided by TaoPrivateBank. The President also greeted the resource officers, got familiarized with the high level safety system that is equipped with 32 video cameras.

The President met the first graders. He got interested in the English language teaching methodology. These school children will be taught according to this method in the scope of the pilot program. Mikheil Saakashvili spoke with the foreign teacher who arrived in Georgia from California in the framework of the program Teach And Learn With Georgia. Volunteer teacher will teach the Georgian school children English language together with the local teachers.

At the end, Mikheil Saakashvili met 80 teachers and underlined the importance of educated future generation. School children’s interest is increased, they are much more informed. Teachers are responsible for giving appropriate, high quality education to the adults as “the greatest capital is educated people” – announced the President.
