In the scope of the Safe School Concept, Resource Officers will operate in all Public Schools of Zugdidi. Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Irine Kurdadze introduced three-person group of Resource Officers to Zugdidi Public School №2.

Resource Officers entered Zugdidi Public School №1,№2,№3,№4,№5 and №10. Step by step, they will cover all Public Schools of Zugdidi.

In order to ensure safety at schools, Resource Officers have been working in Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi and Zigdidi Publci Schools since the new academic year. Resource Officers will enter all Public Schools of Gori and Rustavi by the end of the year. Three-person group, including one woman passed training in the Police Academy. They mastered conflict prevention skills. Resource Officers’ duty is to prevent crime and provide the schoolchildren with any kind of aid. They are not allowed to punish the schoolchildren and are responsible for the safety of the schoolchildren.

Resource Officers, equipped with the uniforms and modern communication devises, will be distributed in the special rooms. The new initiative being implemented in the frame of the Safe School concept is designed to give the parents guarantee of their schoolchildren’s safety.
