By the initiative of the President, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini awarded philologist, PhD, Principal of Tbilisi Public School №24, Gia Murghulia with an Order of Excellence for successful pedagogical activities. By the announcement of the Minister, this is the first time, the Government awards with this Order the school Principal.

In parallel with 30-years pedagogical work, he carries out scientific and literature activities and is author of several editions and projects. He is an author of additional school textbook Talks on Georgian Literature. Mr. Murghulia was awarded with Gogebashvili prize for the booklet of education letters Thinks on Education. Gia Murghulia was nominated at the literature competition of the best project for the collection of 17 books Secular Georgian Writers at Schools as well as World’s Distinguished Stories, published by him.

Gia Murghulia’s supplementary literature Short Contents of World’s and Georgian Literature and collection of Modern and Ancient Allegories were published as well. Festival of Gogi Dolidze’s songs that is held every year with participation of around  1,000 schoolchildren was established by the merited teacher. By the initiative of Gia Murghulia, competition We Write Optional Topic for the children with the humanitarian talent as well as cognitive-entertainment program 7 Days was founded.

Gia Murghulia is an anchor of the radio program Parents’ Meeting being broadcasted by radio Palitra. He carries out public activities –Mr. Murghulia established and currently manages Education Leaders’ League and Union of Partner Schools. David Guramishvili Foundation was founded by Gia Murghulia as well. Catholicos Patriarch of all Georgia, Ilia II and Chabua Amirejibi were presented by the award of this Foundation for their contribution to Georgia.

Gia Murghulia is the Head and one of the founders of Media project Etaloni. He manages and at the same time teaches at American-Georgian Education Centre. The school Logos was founded by Mr. Murghulia. He is the scientific manager of this school as well.

In 1990-2000, Mr. Murghulia was the Rector of the Central Institute of Teachers’ Qualification Advancement of Georgia.

In 2000-2004 – member of Tbilisi City Assembly.

He was appointed as the Principal of Tbilisi Public School №24 in 2004.
