Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini and His Holiness and Beatitude Catholicos Patriarch of all Georgia Ilia II gave the certificate of authorized educational institution to Patriarchate King Tamar University.

Patriarchate King Tamar University answered the authorization requirements and authorization council authorized it as the higher education institution.

Authorization became obligatory in order to gain the status of education institution regardless the working license since September 2010. The authorization establishes the following standards for education institutions:  educational programs, human resources and material resources.  Educational programs of the institution should be in compliance with requirements of law.

To gain the status of education institution, one had to pass licensing and accreditation process. Now the institution has to pass the authorization process only to gain the status of authorized institution.
