Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini introduced Resource Officers to Tbilisi school-lyceum “Mtsignobartukhutsesi”.

First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Koka Sepherteladze visited Backswood International School to introduce the Resources officers to this school.

Resource officers commenced their activities in private schools of Tbilisi upon the request of the school principals. Apart from the schools mentioned above, the Resource Officers will work at 7 private  schools: “Mtiebi”, “Nino”, “Albioni”, “Saduni”,  “International House”, “Vaziani”, “Oazis”.

Resource officers have been trained in Police Academy within the frame of the Safe School program. They have completely acquired necessary skills to handle the conflicts at schools.

Resource Officers’ duty is to prevent conflicts and ensure the safety of the schoolchildren, teachers and school staff. They are not allowed to punish anyone at school.
