The Deputy
Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Nodar Surguladze, along with other members
of a Georgian delegation, paid an official visit to the Republic of Suriname.
During
the visit, the Georgian delegation presented 100 "Buki" net-books and 5
smart-boards to the Surinamese. Members of the delegation met the Minister
of Education and Community Development, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the
Minister of Health of the Republic of Suriname.
During the visit, the Deputy Minister met the members of the Board
of the State University of Suriname. At the meeting the Deputy Minister was
familiarized with current higher education programs at the University and discussed
with board members thier scholarship programs. It was also reaffirmed that the Georgian
Government will finance the education of 5 Suriname citizens at Tbilisi State
Medical University.

Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Suriname, Otar
Berdzenishvili, attended all meetings planned during the official visit.
