The famous Italian industrial designer and inductee of the Automotive Hall of Fame Giorgetto Giugiuaro is paying an official visit to Georgia. Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini met the guest from Italy. Famous Georgian industrial designer Zviad Tsikolia also attended the meeting.

As it was decided during the meeting, International School of Design will be opened in Georgia on the basis of Georgian Technical University. The school will be under the patronage of famous automobile designer Giorgetto Giugiuaro. Successful Georgian and foreign designers as well as professors will give lectures at International School of Design. This initiative will be implemented under the Presidential program that envisages the recruitment of foreign teachers and professors to Georgia in order to work at Georgian state universities. To support this process Government of Georgian will grant one million GEL to each Georgian higher education institution that recruits foreign academic personnel.

Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs in such fields as industrial design, communication, advertising, furniture and interior design, transport design, graphic design will be taught at International School of Design.

The school will give an excellent opportunity to talented youngsters to develop their creative potential and skills in order to become high qualified professionals.
