The CPHRL is designed as a biocontainment laboratory providing a high level of sophistication that allows lab technicians to perform microbial forensics and strain characterization research to better understand endemic pathogens, thereby enhancing regional public and veterinary health capacities.
Promoting public and animal health through infectious disease detection, epidemiological surveillance, and research for the benefit of Georgia, the Caucasus region, and the global community is the goal of the lab.
