A coordinating meeting was held regarding the issues of funding vocational education. Representatives of state and private colleges, professional unions, employment associations, the ministry and international organizations attended the meeting.

Shortcomings of the existing model of funding and formation of new mechanisms were the topics discussed at the meeting. International experts working in Georgia with the support of German International Organization for Technical Assistance (GIZ) have studied the system of funding of vocational education. The experts made their own recommendations.

Starting from the next year, the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia is planning to start discussion of alternative ways for funding vocational education with the participation of interested persons and organizations. In case an agreement is reached regarding the issue, the Ministry will provide implementation of a new model.
