For the first time this year, twice as many students will be financed within the special program (http://www.mes.gov.ge/content.php?id=4791&lang=geo). 2 560 000 GEL is allocated for the students enrolled on higher educational programs as a result of Unified National Examinations within the framework of students social program. Last year the amount of money allocated for the same purpose constituted 1 118 208 GEL.   

For the first time this year, students (http://www.mes.gov.ge/content.php?id=4791&lang=geo) from the families registered in the database of socially unprotected with the amount of points equal or less than 70 000 and enrolled in higher education institutions as a result of Unified National Examinations of the years 2011 and 2012 will be financed within the framework of students social program.  

For the first time this year,  MA students will be financed within the framework of  the social program (http://mes.gov.ge/content.php?id=4792&lang=geo).  205 000 GEL is allocated for financing MA students for 2013-2014 academic year with State Master educational grant.

For the first time this year,  1 million GEL is allocated for financing PhD studies; წელს პირველად, სახელმწიფო  დააფინანსებს დოქტორანტურაში სწავლას, რაზეც   1 მილიონი ლარია გამოყოფილი; 

For the first time this year, Bachelor degree studies of the students enrolled in higher education institutions on 17 leading directions will be financed by the State. 

Annual amount of State grant allocated based on the result of National Examinations 2013 has doubled (grant financing shall cover all faculties);

The budget of “State stipend for students” program has doubled.  

The Ministry is running the following important projects:

-Student exchange programs in leading higher education institutions of the world within the mobility process (with the financing of a host country)

-Educational-research grants for PhD programs

-Physics, chemistry, Biology, Maths, Social Sciences and Humanities Summer and Winter Schools for 2013-2014, for the students of State higher education institutions.  

- Financing of book resources/laboratory equipment and rehabilitation necessary for relevant educational program by State higher education institutions, etc
