Minister of Education and Science Tamar Sanikidze congratulated students of vocational education college “Spektri” with the beginning of the academic year and wished all the success to other students of vocational education institutions. 600 students will acquire desired vocation in college “Spektri”, among them are eight students will special educational needs. 

Up to 9000 students are enrolled on approximately 100 vocational education programmes as a result of testing for the academic year 2013-2014. Tuition is free for them. Duration of each educational programme is determined in compliance with the corresponding vocational standard. Coming out from the above-mentioned, duration of a program is minimum 6 months and maximum 2,5 years.

Number of students with special educational needs enrolled on vocational programmes is 51. Fair and transparent rule for enrollment on vocational programmes at State based vocational educational institutions has been elaborated by the Ministry of Education and Science.

Barrier for moving on from step to the next has been abolished. Those applicants enrolled as a result of a contest and who have passed minimum competency level in testing shall have an opportunity to get education free of charge in State education institution.
