The Ministry of Education and Science within public finance management reform is working closely with the Ministry of Finance Harmonization Centre. The ongoing reform and  EU support within „public financial management and policy reform "project the Ministry is one of the first who begins to pilot the effectiveness of the audit.

Within the pilot project, the effectiveness audit will be carried for high risks and public interest having  programs. The process will be  guided by  invited international expert Nihat Stream, who is in Georgia at that time.

The audit objective is to establish a program for the implementation of the program takes place on the scale of the resources, as well as to evaluate the program on how to generate funds have been used efficiently and economically, and as a result, how the achievement of its goals.

Performance audit is one of the new audits and is a major challenge for internal audits. The internal audit function is essential to strengthen public institutions and is the part of the public finance management reform, The introduction and implementation of proper audit practice, significantly increasing the public sector profitable, efficient and effective operation.

The Ministry of Education and Science also constantly working to attract highly qualified personnel and office employees in qualifying. Accordingly, by the Ministry and the Ministry of Finance organized by the Ministry of Internal Audit 30 representatives have successfully completed the course,, specialized internal audit staff. "

The course consisted of 5 training modules -State budget, government purchases , tax laws, accounting and reporting of budget organizations and two accounting. After completing the course, the First Deputy Minister of Education and Science Ketevan Natriashvili training of employees with certificates and wished them success. It should be noted that most participants in gold and some silver certificates paid.
