Minister of Education and Science, Dimitri Shashkini and Chairman of Education, Science and Culture Commitee, Goka Gabashvili visited Tbilisi Public School №196. The school was established in 1994 and is the member of Association of Valdorf Schools. Tbilisi Public School №196 is UNESCO associated school. Dimitri Shashkini got familiarized with specific teaching methodology of this school.

Curriculum of Public School №196 is in compliance with National Curriculum and also satisfies international norms and requirements of Association of Valdorf Schools. The school is similarly concentrated on scientific studies, as well as art and practical subjects.  Children age-group specificities are also considered. According to the teaching specificity and adults’ learning abilities, the school has developed intensive teaching methods. All subjects are taught creatively. The school tries to give the schoolchildren harmonious education in order to express their abilities and finally make the right decisions.

Sections of handiworks, chamber orchestra, singing group, theatre of puppets function at this school.  4^th and 8^th graders regularly perform puppet plays with the dolls and decorations they make independently.
