Shashkini met with the teachers of Batumi Public Schools #10 and #12. Dimitri
Shashkini spoke about ongoing educational reforms at the meeting and initiated
to establish physics-mathematical school in Batumi. Physics-mathematical school will be
founded after unification of Public Schools #10 and #12. It will be named after
Shota Kemkhadze, Doctor of Science (Physics and mathematics).
In the
framework of the second level of educational reforms of MES, one of the
priorities is to establish profile schools in order to develop different
directions. These directions will be taught intensively in specialized
schools.
School children of Batumi Physics-mathematical school will
receive opportunity to study these disciplines intensively.
School teachers positively responded to the
Minister’s initiative. Lecturers of Batumi
State University
also attended the meeting and expressed willingness to give the classes to the
children of this school free of charge.
According to the Minister’s announcement,
establishing physics-mathematical school in Adjara is very important. School
children in Batumi, as well as the school
children in Kutaisi and Tbilisi will have opportunity to study these
disciplines intensively. It has to be highlighted that students of these
schools win in School Olympiads and are very successful that is very important
for the future of our country.
