The Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport of Georgia responds to the alleged allegations towards banning the political activities in one of the LEPL insitutions – namely the Dadiani Palace.

The Ministry unequivocally states that the information does not correspond to the truth, since the agency has not given any such instruction to any organization under its control.

Consequently, the reported information serves to mislead the public and discredit the Ministry completely. More importantly, the press service of the Ministry provided a comprehensive and accurate information to all interested media outlets.

In particular, the letter, signed by the head of the Legal Department of the Ministry, dictated by the Election Code of Georgia, which, according to paragraph 3 of Article 49, prohibits the implementation of such projects, except in the case of projects / programs financed by the election date no less than 60 days prior to the relevant budget allocations under the program code and / or the funds from such allocations, as well as funds allocated by donors. Also, during the course of the educational process, directors and teachers of public schools are prohibited from any political propaganda / election agitation.

This restriction applies only to the electoral district where the interim elections are held.
