Today, August 1, the 2020 Common Masters Exams commenced. On the first day of the exams, the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia Nunu Mitskevichi got acquainted with the registration of applicants together with the Minister of Education, Culture and Sports of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Maia Khajishvili at the examination center opened at Batumi Public School N10.

With the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, a gala award ceremony of the National Award for Vocational Education was held. The event was also attended by US Ambassador to Georgia, Kelly Degnan, Israeli Ambassador to Georgia, Ran Gidor and other invited guests.

The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli awarded the winners of the 77th  Georgian Women's Chess Championship. Nino Batsiashvili became the champion of Georgia with 7.0 points, who won this title for the third time. Meri Arabidze (6.5) and Bela Khotenashvili (6.5) shared the second and third places, respectively.

Georgian national team successfully competed in the 4th European Physics Olympiad. Giorgi Dzadzamia, Ioane Toidze and Luka Kirtadze were awarded with silver medals, and Nikoloz Nikuradze with a bronze medal. The members of the team are students of Komarov Physics and Mathematics School.

The Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Ekaterine Dgebuadze, held a meeting with the principals of public schools of Gori Municipality and local experts involved in the "New School Model" and discussed issues related to the start of the new school year.

The construction of a primary school in the village of Tedotsminda in Gori Municipality has been completed. At this stage, internal renovation, and arrangement of the outer perimeter of the school are underway. A meeting of the Organizing Committee of the Science and Innovation Festival 2020 was held, chaired by the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Nunu Mitskevichi. The meeting focused on discussing the ways of implementing CAPTAIN: Science is the Captain project.
