Another new project for the rehabilitation and resocialization of convicts was introduced - prisoners at №5, №14 and №16 penitentiaries will be trained with the support of state vocational colleges.

Under the project, more than 70 convicts will undergo the theoretical part of the Information Literacy, Communication and Driving Courses over the period of two months.

The Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Tamar Kitiashvili and Deputy Minister of Justice, Buba Lomuashvili got acquainted with the ongoing educational process at 16 various penitentiary institutions. The Deputy Ministers spoke to the participants and inspected the leather and wooden items made by the prisoners, as well as other works created in the sewing shop.

The prisoner training project is implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science and the Center for Vocational Training and Retraining of Convicts project. Iberia, Ikarusi, Modusi and Gldani Vocational Training Centres all participate in the project.

The study rooms in the institution were arranged and equipped with the support and assistance of a special penitentiary service.
