The Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Nunu Mitskevichi, together with Sopho Gorgodze, the Head of the National Centre for Assessment and Examinations, visited the examination centre opened at the 103rd Public School before the exams.
During the visit, the media representatives also visited the centre. They were given the opportunity to learn on the spot how the examination will be arranged for the 2021 exams and what regulations will be followed by both the examiners and the persons involved in the examination process.
The deputy minister provided journalists with detailed information about the national exams. As Nunu Mitskevichi noted, all the regulations of the Ministry of Health are observed in the examination centres, and they are in full readiness to accept the entrants. She said that due to the coronavirus infection this year, none of the test subjects, entrants, students, graduate students or teachers will be left out of the exams. According to a specially compiled schedule, the National Centre for Assessment and Examinations will conduct the examination in the relevant subject no earlier than 2 weeks. It is important that geographical coverage is taken into account.
The 2021 examination process will be conducted in full compliance with the recommendations set by the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia. 25 examination centres will be opened throughout Georgia. Including Batumi, Poti, Zugdidi, Ozurgeti, Kutaisi, Akhaltsikhe, Gori, Tbilisi, Rustavi, Telavi and Khulo.
As in 2020, test takers and supervisors will only be allowed at 50% capacity of the area of each examination sector, and each desk will be equipped with a transparent protective shield / barrier on the front.
Please be reminded that the examination centres are fully equipped with air conditioning system and this year also provide special spaces for those examiners who have on-site temperature.
The examination process will start on July 1 with the Unified National Examinations.
