Under the leadership of Deputy Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, Gela Geladze, an organizational group meeting was convened to address preparations for the 2024 exams.
During the meeting, the group members discussed the action plan and assigned specific tasks to each agency involved in the logistical aspects of the exams. The discussions covered emergency and fire safety provisions, transportation, and other critical matters.
Preparations at the National Center for Assessment and Examinations are actively underway, including the distribution of applicants to examination centres and the provision of necessary exam materials. Selection testing for invigilators, supervisors, and assistants for Tbilisi examination centres has been completed, with similar processes planned soon for regional centres. Simultaneously, a special commission, in collaboration with experts and the relevant centre services, is evaluating applications for special conditions.
This year, exam centres will operate in 12 cities: Tbilisi, Rustavi, Telavi, Gori, Zugdidi, Kutaisi, Poti, Ozurgeti, Batumi, Akhaltsikhe, Khulo, and Ambrolauri.
Approximately 80,000 candidates have registered for the unified national exams, student grant competition, general master's exam, and teacher's exam.
The examination period kicks off with the unified national exams on July 3, followed by the subject and special teacher's exams starting July 5. The student grant competition will also commence on July 5, while candidates for master's degrees will sit for the common master's exam on July 17-18.
It's worth noting that every year, an organizational group is formed to ensure the high standard of exams. This group comprises representatives from various agencies, including the Government Administration of Georgia, Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, National Center for Evaluation and Examinations, Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Tbilisi Municipality City Hall, Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs of IDPs from the Occupied Territories of Georgia, Ministry of Defense, State sub-departmental institution under the Ministry of Justice of Georgia - Special Penitentiary Service Convict Resocialization-Rehabilitation Department, State Police Mandatory Service, State Police Education Management Information System, State Police Educational and Scientific Infrastructure Development Agency, JSC "Telasi", JSC "Energo-Pro" Georgia", LLC Magticom, and LLC Skytel.
