On July 5, 2024, Nodar Papukashvili, the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, and Youth Affairs of Georgia, inaugurated the second International Excellence School in Georgia, held as part of the I2Q project.
In his welcoming address, Papukashvili highlighted the significance of multi-sector cooperation, knowledge transfer, and innovation fostered by the Excellence School. He noted that this three-day event aims to help young scientists and researchers develop effective cooperation strategies and innovative approaches through diverse partnerships, thereby enhancing their competitiveness and increasing the internationalization of universities.
The planned activities are designed to train early career researchers and academic staff, drawing on best practices in grant project management and innovation. The primary objective of the International Excellence School is to strengthen research capabilities at universities in Georgia, improving their research structures, processes, and outcomes.
It is worth noting that the Excellence School is jointly hosted by Batumi State University and the Batumi State Academy. Another event in the format of the International Excellence School is scheduled to take place in Georgia, focusing on enhancing the academic and scientific community's abilities in grant project development, technology transfer, and the protection of innovations and intellectual property rights.
