Minister of Education, Science, and Youth Affairs Giorgi Amilakhvari visited the newly rehabilitated public school in Gori to observe the ongoing infrastructure improvements and assess the situation on-site. Accompanying him were Anri Okhanashvili, Chairman of the Committee on Legal Issues of the Parliament of Georgia, and Giorgi Sosiashvili, majoritarian MP for Gori and Kaspi.
During the visit, Giorgi Amilakhvari emphasized that improving school infrastructure is essential for increasing access to education across the country. He noted that the LEPL Educational and Scientific Infrastructure Development Agency is actively undertaking various infrastructure projects in both Tbilisi and regional areas.
Gori Public School #12 is designed to accommodate 750 students and features updated natural sciences and computer laboratories, a library, resource room, doctor's office, dining room, gym, and assembly halls. The building will also be fully accessible for individuals with disabilities.
The rehabilitation works are being carried out by the LEPL Educational and Scientific Infrastructure Development Agency, with a contractual value exceeding 5,100,000 GEL. After the rehabilitation is completed, the agency will equip the school with all necessary training resources and equipment.
As a result of this infrastructure project, students at Gori Public School #12 will be able to continue their education in a modern environment that meets international standards..
