By the initiative of the President of Georgia, dance classes will be introduced in schools from 2011. Theoretical and practical classes in Georgian dance will be given. At the first level, innovation will be piloted in the schools of Tbilisi.
The program will be launched in all schools in 2010-2012 academic years in the scope of the National Curriculum.
In order to give dance classes at schools, MES, together with the National Center for Teacher Development announced competition for the dance class teachers.
“Folklore presents one of the most important parts of traditions. Dance classes should be given by the professionals to the schoolchildren” – noted Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Irine Kurdadze at the briefing, held at MES.
Willing teachers should have minimum two years experience of teaching dances. He/she should deliver the filled application and copy of qualification approval document in the National Center for Teacher Development.
The deadline is on October 31, 2010.
