The President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashhvili, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini and the Mayor of Tbilisi, Gigi Ugulava, observed the ongoing construction works of a new professional center in Gldani on site today. Together with the workers, they also participated in the construction works.
On the initiative of the President of Georgia, a Center for Professional Retraining is being constructed in Gldani. The President of Georgia, with the dropping of a capsule, laid the foundation of a new professional center last December.

 A new college will start functioning from the next academic year under the patronage of the President of Georgia.

The new institution will offer the following specialties: construction technique, operator, electrician, sewing specialist, accountant, etc. The college will admit any interested person irrespective of   his/her age.

The college will be equipped with up-to-date facilities and staffed with qualified personnel.

The aim of launching of such institution is to retrain the population in outskirt of Tbilisi.  

Enhancing the vocational education is one of the priorities of the Ministry, in this regard, the Ministry is implementing various reforms, including upgrading the infrastructure and retraining the personnel.
