The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Khatia Dekanoidze met with US Senator John McCain, Joseph Lieberman and Lindsey Graham. The Minister took them on a tour of Batumi International Technological University.

Khatia Dekanoidze stated that the University will focus on three main disciplines: technology, information, and engineering. In the future, the University will issue programs for bachelors, masters and doctoral. Many international universities, such as New York Technical University, have shown interest in starting relations with the Technical University in Batumi.

The future University will offer several specific faculties such as civil engineering, IT, physics, mathematics, electronic engineering, chemical and biological technologies, etc..
