Within the project of infrastructural development of higher education facilities, rehabilitation of regional higher education facilities is a priority for the Ministry. Samtskhe-Javakheti State University, with its buildings in Akhaltsikhe and Akhalkalaki, is among them.

From the beginning of a new academic year, it is planned to enact several programs that are important for the region. It will contribute to attract students from different regions of Georgia to Akhalkalaki. Therefore, it is significant for the city to establish dormitories in compliance with the modern standards. It is worth mentioning that there are no personnel with academic degrees at the place. All professors and teachers go from Akhaltsikhe to Akhalkalaky daily. Rehabilitated, well-equipped hostel will provide living conditions for academic personnel.
