Vocational Education
Vocational education is a precondition for employment or qualification raising, and today the professions acquired in the vocational colleges are the most demanded by the employers. Consequently, the vocational colleges offer a variety of educational programs, including dual professional education to the citizens of all ages, through state funding. Employers are also involved in this process and the minimum remuneration for students is also included.
Vocational colleges are provided in all regions of Georgia and the citizens can acquire new professions near their houses, which will contribute to development of industry and agriculture in the country. At present, 37 state institutions implementing state program operate throughout the country. Legislation will be improved - as a result, a person with basic education, holding a vocational college diploma, will be able to enroll in the higher education institution.
Higher Education
For close interaction of education and economy, the state will offer higher education focused on employment and development of the country to the students. Universities will prepare the specialists, needed for production, construction, business, agriculture, politics, civil sector, sports, art, academic and scientific circles. In addition, the state will fund the priority professions, which are hightly demanded by the employers. The best Georgian students will be awarded with the diplomas of international level.
Science
Georgia is the center of higher education, science and research in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and the CIS region. Kutaisi Technological University will support implementation of this plan with a new project – “Study in Georgia”. Within the framework of the project, foreign international programs will be launched in private and state universities, therefore more foreign students will learn in Georgia and more Georgian scientists will be able to get involved in international exchange programs. Support programs for young scientists, as well as the Georgian sciences abroad will be developed. Cooperation with “Horizon 2020” and various international scientific foundations will continue and strengthen.
Science will be commercialized - young scientists / inventors will be able to convert their findings into commercially interesting proposals. This approach will facilitate return of the Georgian scientists working abroad to their homeland. These measures will facilitate economic development of the country.
