Georgian National Film Center (GNFC) starts a new season of the project “Cinema at School”. In this regard today, the Minister of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia Mikheil Giorgadze, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Lia Gigauri and the Director of the Georgian National Film Center Zurab Maghalashvili held press conference.
“Cinema at School” is a project focused on popularization of cinema education, aimed at development of critical thinking and creative skills in young people. The project has been implemented for the fourth year and it offers novelties to the cinema school pupils every season. This year “Cinema at School” will actively cooperate with the program “Free Lessons” of the Ministry of Education and Science, which implies that the screenings and discussions will also be conducted by school teachers together with the cinema specialists.
The cinema specialists involved in the project “Cinema at School” will coordinate and assist the school teachers to acquire the relevant qualifications, in order to provide the competent staff in the schools after the project, which will continue independent working, establish the cinema-clubs in the schools and take care of cultural development of the children.
Project “Cinema at School” is carried out with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia and the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. Currently, 217 schools and all regions of Georgia, including the occupation line and mountainous villages, are involved in the project.
