Strengthening of international cooperation in the field of science and technology in the Silk Road countries; cooperation for development of joint fundamental researches; creation of academic exchange programs and promotion to mobility of scientists - these are the main directions, stipulated by the action plan of the program “Science-Talent-Future”, developed by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), on which the working meeting was held with the delegation of the National Natural Science Foundation of China today.
The National Natural Science Foundation of China is ready to organize joint target activities with the Silk Road countries, including Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia, to select and to fund distinguished research groups of the Silk Road countries with common scientific objectives together with the partner foundations. For promotion of innovation in natural sciences, engineering and healthcare, the Foundation of China is also going to create an effective international cooperative information platform and to share the news of strategic consultations, science policy and education.
The symposium scheduled on July 2-4, 2017 in Beijing, serves this goal, through participation of international scientific organizations, scientific funds, science and technology policy agencies, and Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation is invited to take part in its working. The action plan implementation committee will be set up within the framework of the symposium and the committee members will be selected, who will determine the priorities, evaluate the applications submitted by the research groups, select distinctive scientific groups to support their future academic development.
