The “National Teacher Prize” will be established for the first time in Georgia with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. For this purpose, the Memorandum of Cooperation was signed among the Coalition “Education for All – Georgia”, the Ministry of Education and Science and the National Teacher Professional Development Center.

The “National Teacher Prize” is the part of the global campaign - the Global Teacher Prize, aimed at revealing of successful teachers, their presentation to the society and promotion of their profession by awarding the winners with the prizes, which will provide all the teachers of the world with the desire of success.

According to the Memorandum, the parties agree that appreciation of teachers, recognition of their merit, awarding and introducing their contribution to the society is important for increasing the prestige of the teacher’s profession and attracting more dignified person in the profession. To this end, at the initiative of the Coalition “Education for All – Georgia”, in partnership with the National Teacher Professional Development Center (TPDC), the preparatory works for national awarding competition for teachers will start. The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia joins and supports this initiative.
