Under the “Dedaena” program, the
Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, announces a competition for
selecting the educational resources for the 1st grade, created
according to the Iakob Gogebashvili method. The process will facilitate the
creation of a vital envirinonment for preserving the intangible culture
heritage of Georgia. Additionally, this program serves the purpose to
maintain/activate Iakob Gogebashvili’s basic method.
Iakob Gogebashvili's method of drafting
the Georgian alphabetical textbook was awarded with the status of intangible
cultural heritage in 2013. In 2014, the method was given the category of
national importance. Furthermore, to maintain Iakob Gogebashvilu’s method, it
is highly recommended that the method be actively implemented in the
educational process.
The commission created by the order of the Minister will carefully select the
educational material. The selected educational resource will be distributed
across Georgia’s 20 public schools.
Competition conditions:
√ The textbook presented within the
competition framework, should be in compliance with Iakob Gogebashvili's method
of creating a manuscript, representing an intangible cultural heritage (it is
also compulsory to present a conclusion from the relevant commission of the
LEPL - National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation of the Ministry of
Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia);
√The textbook set, intended for the first
grade, should consist of the following: Textbooks for students and teachers and
a notebook;
√ The textbook should not contain
stereotypical, incorrect, discriminatory and / or discrediting elements of
language, nationality, religion, sex, social belonging and other grounds;
√In the introductory section of the
Teacher's Book, the essence of Iakob Gogebashvili's method should be detailed
and its uniqueness should be explained. The main part should portray the
section/unit purpose, in conjunction with explaining the providing with a
lesson scenario – first chapter (meaning the first chapter, which is not a
repetiotion of the covered material), recommended scenarios for all lessons, as
well as various types of homewors from the curriculum and student evaluation
mechanisms.
√All the material presented within the
competition should be a colored print. Additionally accompanied with an
electronic version, saved on a compact disk.
√ The issues regarding the terms,
conditions and copyright transfer shall be determined by the licensing
agreement between the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and the
author;
√The deadline for the submitting
educational resources is August 29, 2017.
