A nine-meter diameter Protective Aluminum Structures are being manufactured by the Georgian Technical University, intended for the Atlas experiment at the European Center for Nuclear Studies (CERN). The constructions are made on the industrial base of Elita-Burji plant. Furthermore, the design and the entire manufacturing procedure is carried out according to the ISO international standards. Today, an important part of the construction will be first sent to Geneva, where the structure will receive its final touches.
The deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia – Alexander Tevzadze and the Chairman of Education, Science and Culture Committee of the Georgian Parliament – Mariam Jashi, visited the plant together, where the scientists of the Technical University explained the entire procedure of manufacturing and how these constructions were created.
