A large-scale festival - "River Bank" has ended in Frankfurt.
Georgia, being the host country has presented a diverse cultural and musical
program at the festival.
The last day of the festival was opened with an impressive "carnival"
performed by the motion theater; said performances were executed by the puppet
opera, collective - "Little Georgica", ensemble – “Laprebi”,
Shalikashvili theatre with a topic of “The Knight in the Tiger’s Skin”. In the
final act of the festival, Nino Katamadze and Insight, Nikoloz Rachveli &
the National Symphony Orchestra have performed an outstanding show. The
festival was closed with impressive fireworks with the Georgian music on the
background.
Furthermore, within the scope of the festival, on August 24 and 25, the river
side stage hosted children’s ensemble – “Little Georgica” who gave an
outstanding performance. Additionally, during a three-day period, various Georgian
artifacts were exhibited, and a special stand was arranged for the Georgian
authors presenting German books. Moreover, Georgian wine tasting was organized.
The project was supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture
and Sport of Georgia and the Georgian National Music Center in Frankfurt.
Georgian National Tourism Administration, Ministry of Agriculture and
Environment of Georgia also participated in the festival.
In 2018, Georgia is an honorable guest on the Frankfurt Book Fair. Throughout
the year, various cultural and literary events are held and this festival is
one of its major and important component.
