"Inclusive education is an integral part of my life" said Nino Tskhadiashvili, a special education teacher who knew at the age of 17 that it was a profession where she felt comfortable and loved it with all her heart.
The successful teacher, who was awarded the status of Senior Special Teacher by the Ministry at the beginning of the year, has been working in Tbilisi Public School N60 since 2010. Since 2015 she has been an Academic Skills Therapist at Ilia State University Institute for Child Development, and since 2021 she has been a №70 public school teacher.
"In 2005, when I started studying in this direction at the university, the first steps in this field were taken then. I do not know why, but at the age of 17 I knew for sure that it was a profession in which I felt comfortable and loved with all my heart. My expectations were really fulfilled, I cannot imagine myself in another profession today. Working with children makes me happy, their eyes lit with joy and hope by them, and their parents give me the incentive to work tirelessly, to learn, to be constantly in the process of searching and thus strengthen others and myself” - said Nino Tskhadiashvili.
The teacher attributes the difficulties to a society. At that time, the society was not yet ready to change the deeply established stereotypes:
"The biggest role in overcoming all this was played by the clearly stated position of the country that inclusive education was a priority. In addition, the school administration put in indefinite work. My colleagues and I constantly felt their support. The most important factor is the involvement of parents. It is really difficult to achieve the desired result without their activity and assistance."
Nino connects her achievements only with the love of children, selfless hard work, stubbornly striving for a goal and teamwork despite the difficulties.
"I advise my colleagues, despite many problems, to fight on, to learn and to teach, so that we can all develop our profession together."
