The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Giorgi Amilakhvari held a meeting with the representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Nick Beresford, and discussed ways of implementing joint projects in the field of education and science and the possibilities of enhancing the existing cooperation.
Giorgi Amilakhvari thanked Nick Beresford for the long-term partnership and noted that a number of important projects are being implemented with the support of the United Nations Development Program.
Moreover, during the meeting, the Minister paid special attention to the importance of vocational education and support for the development of human capital in Georgia. According to Giorgi Amilakhvari, a maximum involvement of the private sector is vitally important in this process. Additionally, the minister introduced the guest to several mechanisms that he intends to offer to the private sector.
Furthermore, the representative of the United Nations Development Program, on his part, promised support to the minister in the development of vocational education and expressed his willingness to implement joint projects in this direction and enhance the cooperation with the ministry.
