Giorgi Amilakhvari, the Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, addressed the development of youth policy while presenting the government program to the Parliament.
Giorgi Amilakhvari stated: " Since 2024, youth policy has been systematically integrated into the field of education, ensuring the implementation of various programs, projects, and activities tailored to the needs and interests of young people."
He further emphasized that significant attention will be given to actively involving young people in decision-making processes concerning issues that are important to them, following the implementation of the state's youth strategy for 2023-2026. This involvement would span the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of youth policies and programs.
Furthermore the Minister added: "High-quality non-formal education and youth activity programs, student festivals, camps, volunteer opportunities, information and counseling services, as well as grant projects, will be made available for young people, thereby promoting the development of key competencies." He also mentioned the expansion of international cooperation in the realm of youth policy and activities.
