During his working visit to Armenia, the Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, Giorgi Amilakhvari, visited the Mesrop Mashtots Research Institute of Ancient Manuscripts in Yerevan, known as Matenadaran. There, he familiarized himself with the institute's activities and toured the exhibition of Armenian manuscripts.
Matenadaran stands as the most significant repository of ancient Armenian manuscript books and historical documents, housing approximately 23,000 manuscripts. Among them are more than 45 Georgian manuscripts and over 55 fragments and palimpsests dating from the 10th to the 20th centuries.
Notably, as part of the collaboration between the Korneli Kekelidze National Manuscripts Center of Georgia and the Armenian Manuscripts Research Center "Matenadaran," a joint research project is planned. This project will involve Georgian and Armenian specialists working together
