The Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, Giorgi Amilakhvari, inaugurated the closing ceremony of the extensive youth festival "Studfest 2024," where the winning students were honoured.
Addressing the audience, the minister congratulated the winners on their achievements and presented them with special prizes.
"Studfest 2024" was organized by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia in collaboration with the Youth Agency of the State of Georgia, Tbilisi City Hall, and the Association of Student Organizations of Georgia.
This year, the festival attracted approximately 25,000 participants, with 665 students emerging as winners.
Throughout the festival, activities such as inter-university sports tournaments, cultural and creative events, intermedia competitions among university theaters, volunteer initiatives, and STEM competitions were held across Georgia. These activities provided young people with opportunities to engage in various fields including science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Educational projects featured intellectual competitions among students, debates, the City Game, and an essay competition on the topic "Georgia and Europe," along with a STEM marathon.
A wide range of sports were organized, including 3x3 basketball, judo, sambo, Georgian wrestling, backgammon, chess, checkers, volleyball, mini football, table tennis, billiards, karting, bowling, tennis, badminton, paintball, rugby sevens, rafting, and futsal.
Cultural events encompassed competitions in Georgian dance, modern solo and duet song performances, music band competitions, the Georgian League, modern dance competitions, and folk song competitions.
University teams participated in volunteer projects as part of the volunteering component, while university theaters presented performances as part of the intermedia competition.
